About the Show

The Short Kuts Show: Strictly Business — True tales of business owners on their journey into the world of entrepreneurship

Dec. 7th, 2019

Hosted by Kiragu Beauttah with DJ Leroy on the ones and twos

Celebrating the 75th birthday of the late Baltimore born and raised first Black Billionaire businessman, Reginald F. Lewis, The Short Kuts Show, with the short story theme of ‘Strictly Business’, uplifted the life and pioneering legacy of Lewis through a collection of true business journey tales inspired by EPMD’s 1988 kut ‘Strictly Business’ and told by a group of 8 innovative Black American entrepreneurs from the Baltimore region including Maurissa Stone-Bass, director of innovation, The Living Well Center, Greg Brown, owner, The Land of Kush Vegan Soul Restaurant, Dr. Tammira Lucas, owner/CEO, The CUBE COWORK and Executive Director of the Warnock Foundation, along with a handful of other Black business community members, sharing the stories of what put them on the path of business ownership and what they’ve learned, encountered, and have overcome along the way.

FAMILY:   As the pandemic persists, The Short Kuts Show Narrative Therapy Initiative ~&~ Live Storytelling Experience is also persisting in its efforts in creating individual and village uplift with storytelling coupled with therapeutic practices--“narrative therapy” (or “thairapy”, as The Short Kuts Show is a storytelling project inspired by/paying homage to the hair-chair therapists of the Black American barber/beauty shop--its barbers and stylists), as we call it--positively impacting the community.
